What to include so the quote is accurate

The more of the following you can give, the closer a first estimate will be to the final figure, and the fewer revisions there will be after the survey.

Room dimensions matter more than photographs alone: length, width and ceiling height, plus the position of windows, doors and any existing services. For floors and walls, an approximate area is usually enough to establish scale.

Tell us what is there now and what you want changed. Whether the layout stays as it is or moves, whether existing tiling or flooring is coming out, and what condition the surfaces are in all change the work far more than the finish you choose does.

Photographs help most when they show the whole room from two corners rather than close-ups of a detail, because what surrounds a surface usually determines how it has to be treated.

If you have a finish, colour or product in mind, include it. If you have not decided, say so - the specification is often better settled after the survey, once the substrate and the constraints of the room are known.
